VDG sells two warehouses to Savills Invest Management for 26 million euros
Gemert, 1 September 2020 | VDG, better known as Van Dijk Groep, sells two warehouses spanning a total surface area of 23,000 sqm to Savills Investment Management for a purchase price of 26 million euros. The warehouses encompass 11,000 sqm and 12,000 sqm respectively and are located at Rietveldenkade 13 and 20 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
Both warehouses were custom developed for Brouwers Transport & Logistics and leased to them long-term. This is an innovative transport company that has adopted the latest technologies in the field of logistics processing and data sharing.
The first warehouse dates from 2018, the second was recently completed. The warehouses are situated in the ‘De Rietvelden’ business park in Bossche, which is home to Heineken, Sligro, Makro, Karwei, Bouwmaat and Moonen, among other companies. With a direct connection to the A59 and A2 motorways nearby, the site enjoys excellent accessibility.
Marcel Fleminks, Co-head Netherlands at Savills Investment Management: “This acquisition is a great addition to Savills Investment Management’s fast-growing logistics portfolio in the Netherlands and is also an invaluable start to our new pan-European ELF III fund. In total, SIM’s logistics portfolio in the Netherlands amounts to approximately 650 million euros.”
The warehouses also meet high standards in terms of sustainability. Erik van Dijk, owner of Van Dijk Groep, adds: “One of our companies, VDG Solar, is planning to rent the rooftops of the warehouses for the next sixteen years and install solar panels on them. Together with the tenant, we are making an enormous contribution to sustainability with this. The installation will generate 2.5 million KWh of electricity per year, which is equivalent to the consumption levels of no less than 500 households.” The buyer was legally assisted by Dentons, and the seller was advised by 1530 Real Estate and legally advised by CMS.
